We would like to inform you that Moxa is going to make changes to the EDS-2010-ML, EDS-2016-ML, and EDS-2018-ML Series.
Dear Valued Customer,
We would like to inform you that Moxa is going to make changes to the EDS-2010-ML, EDS-2016-ML, and EDS-2018-ML Series. These changes will be implemented as a running change from January 01, 2027. Please review the details below to determine how these changes will affect your products and/or operations.
What will change?
To address market needs while considering sustainable product design, we are implementing a series of product enhancements and design changes to the EDS-2010-ML, EDS-2016-ML, and EDS-2018-ML Series. These changes include selected design and feature enhancements to support long-term product applicability, sustainability, and evolving market requirements.
The following changes will be implemented in the new versions:Form
- The product dimensions remain unchanged.
- The enclosure design and external appearance have been updated, along with the adoption of more sustainable enclosure material.
- The overall port layout remains unchanged, with minor adjustments to the relative positions of individual ports.
- The RJ-45 connectors have been changed to standardize the port LED design across the product series.
- The printed marking for the DIP switch associated with the port alarm function of the combo ports on the EDS-2010-ML Series and EDS-2018-ML Series has been changed to "G1" and "G2".
Fit
- The grounding screw location has been moved to the upper-left of the top panel.
- The applicable optional wall-mount kit has been changed from a screw-mounted type to a clipin type that attaches to the DIN-rail kit.
- The side-mount installation method has been changed from using the DIN-rail kit to an additional mounting accessory.
Function
- A new chip has been adopted in the EDS-2016-ML Series to ensure continued functionality.
- The DIP switch components have been changed to support the newly added functionalities and enhance commonality across the product series.
- Energy-Efficient Ethernet (EEE) functionality has been added and can be configured via a DIP switch.
- Multicast filtering functionality compliant with PROFINET CC-A has been added. When the QoS DIP switch is enabled, multicast filtering is also enabled.
- DSCP-based QoS functionality has been added. When the QoS DIP switch is enabled, DSCPbased QoS functionality is also enabled.
- The enclosure protection rating has been changed from IP30 to IP40.
Packaging
- An FSC-certified packaging box has been introduced
- The per unit packaging size has been changed.

When will the new versions be available?
We will keep supplying the current version and perform a running change from January 2027 to phase in the V2.0.0 version.
